The coastal route to La Jolla

Wander down coast highway and check out the beaches.

Start off with breakfast at Honey's in Encinitas- or grab some donuts at Cardiff's famous bakery... VG's!

• Check out Moonlight Beach-
• Check out Swami's Beach
• Stop off at Cardiff State Beach
• Drive down Highyway101/ Coast Highway all the way through Del Mar.
• Stop off at Torrey Pines State Beach.
• Take a quick hike at Torrey Pines State Reserve. I like the 1st hike- called Guy Muir Trail. It's easy and has amazing views...
• Continue driving south to UCSD and head down to La Jolla Shores.
• Stop by the San Diego Gliderport and watch folks glide and take in the views! You can see all the way from La Jolla to Orange County! If you are brave and don't get motion sickness- try a tandem ride!!
• Head down to La Jolla Cove, park the car and walk from the Kid's Beach- where the baby seals hang out, walk along the shore, and consider checking the cave out!
• Stop in at the Ocean Terrace, at George's at the Cove for lunch and drinks. Great views!
• Wander back "home" to Cardiff so that you won't miss the sunset!
